Knowing whether verbs are followed by "à" "de" or "nothing" before an accompanying verb or noun is, in my view, the most difficult area of grammar in Latin languages. There aren't really any rules and you just have to learn them. The Word document below gives a fairly comprehensive list of the main verbs. The second document is a test. It's good to learn the verbs but "feel" as often in language is as good a guide!
